BILLERICAY Town twice surrendered the lead as they shared the points with Worthing.

Town were five without a win ahead of kick-off and were in desperate need of a pick-me-up on the south coast.

And they started brilliantly, with just two minutes on the clock before they got off the mark.

Recent acquisition Jerome Sobers was the right man in the right place as he scrambled the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.

Town were well on top, but were pegged back 10 minutes before half-time.

A penalty was awarded and Lloyd Dawes, just five minutes after coming off the bench, beat Jack Giddens from 12 yards.

The second-half again saw Billericay enjoy the better of the clash and it was the visitors that once again took the lead.

An hour had passed when Billy Bricknell made it two goals in two games. Having just hit the crossbar, the forward cut inside and drove beyond the goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

But back came Worthing and they levelled five minutes before the end.

Zack Newton was played through and the attacker kept his nerve to strike beyond the goalkeeper and make it 2-2.
