SOUTH Woodham Ferrers will be aiming for a seventh win in succession when they head to Woodford in London Two North East this weekend.
Woodham’s fine run has taken them up to second in the standings, six points behind league leaders Diss with two games in hand.
And Woodham’s head coach Tony Woods is keen to keep the momentum going.
“It’s another important game this weekend and it will be an interesting one too because we haven’t played Woodford yet but we obviously want to keep this good run we’re on going,” said Woods.
“The reports we’ve had suggest they like to kick it a lot.
“But in all of our games this season we have controlled possession and field position and that’s something we’ll look to do again this week.”
Woodford are sixth in the table with seven wins from 12 outings this term.
However, first team manager Jack Kershaw is keen for them to triumph in the first of two meetings in quick succession between the two teams.
“We play Woodford twice in three weeks as they return to us in early February and it will be good to test ourselves against them,” said Kershaw.
“This is also our last match before a run of seven consecutive home games.
“We want to make sure we win it to get in the best possible position.”
Woodham could be missing prop forward Sammy Sharp this weekend but are otherwise able to select a full strength squad.
