READING’S Dominic Samuel is the Championship striker Southend United are keen on signing, Echosport can reveal.
The 22-year-old has scored twice in 15 appearances for the Royals so far this season and is now wanted by Shrimpers boss Phil Brown.
Samuel has previously spent time on loan at Colchester, Dagenham & Redbridge, Coventry City and Gillingham, who he lined up for against Blues last season.
Six other clubs are also believed to be interested in bringing in Samuel, a former England under 19 international.
But Southend still have other transfer targets with Fulham duo Matt Smith and Cauley Woodrow both believed to be on their list along with Charlton Athletic’s Nicky Ajose as Brown looks to strengthen his strike-force.
