SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown admits he has ‘big decisions’ to make ahead of Saturday’s clash with Walsall.
Centre-back Adam Thompson, top goalscorer Simon Cox, midfielder Michael Timlin and right-back Jason Demetriou are all pushing for recalls after missing Tuesday night’s victory at Coventry City.
And Brown knows it will be a difficult starting line-up to select at Roots Hall this weekend.
“I’ve definitely got some big decisions to make,” said the Shrimpers chief.
“Adam Thompson was training today and so were Simon Cox and Michael Timlin.
“Jason Demetriou will also train on Friday so we have a number of strong options to choose from.
“But freshness and legs are vitally important at this stage.
“I’ve been afforded a decent sized squad by the chairman and it would be foolish for me to use it.”
