SEEVIC’S rugby team are just one step away from winning another title this season.

The Thundersley based college were crowned AOC League Champions in January.

And they have now made it through to the Essex Cup final beating Barking 34-10 in the final four, much to the delight of their director of rugby Danny Cleare.

“The boys produced a very pleasing performance and some of our attacking play was outstanding,” said Cleare.

“We scored some excellent tries against a determined and physical Barking side.

“As a team we still have plenty of things to work on and we need to improve our game to ensure we win the final.”

Norbertas Radzevicius, George Griffiths, Jake Spivey, Matt Dobson, Josh Ridgway and Kudzai Muzuzu all bagged tries in the semi-final success for Seevic.

And Griffiths, who also plays in the Southend Saxons first team, was thrilled by the victory.

“Getting through to the final is amazing but now the hard work starts,” said Griffiths.

“Coopers are always a hard team to face but we need to continue to train and work as a team to ensure we make our mark.”

Seevic will face Coopers’ Company and Coborn School in the final but a date for the game has yet to be confirmed.
