SOUTH Woodham Ferrers will be looking to clinch promotion into London One North this weekend.

Woodham, who finished second in London Two North East, face HAC in an eagerly anticipated play-off final.

And vice-captain Warren Duggan is keen to end an already impressive season in style.

“I’m really excited about the game,” said Duggan.

“It’s a huge game for the team and the club and it’s a great way to sign off a really good season for us.

“After finishing third from bottom last year we knew we needed to put things right this year.

“We set some goals at the start of the season and the first aim was to improve on last year’s points total which we did by Christmas.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t push Diss right down to the wire for the league title, but finishing second is a massive achievement when you look at the quality In the league and every player should be very proud of that.”

HAC finished second in London Two North West with 92 points, just two behind champions Old Haberdashers.

But prop forward Neil Gittos is not too sure what to expect against the Londoners.

“We don’t know much about them and that’s probably for the best, said Gittos.

“Guess work at this stage is not ideal and we have to just be focused on what we bring to the table.

“That being said, they are clearly a great side and have dominated London North West along with the league champions Old Haberdashers.”
