JAMIE Porter shone as England Lions ran out comfortable winners against South Africa A.
Seamer Porter took six wickets on his international debut as the Lions defeated their opponents by 257 runs at Canterbury.
And Dan Lawrence, who was also making his debut for his country, also contributed well.
The young batsman took a wicket in each innings, having scored 34 runs of his own in his first innings spell at the crease.
Porter took 3-58 in the first innings, before following it up with 3-47 as South Africa made just 158 in their run chase.
Lawrence made a quick-fire 18 from 15 balls in his second innings, although his bowling figures were arguably more impressive.
The spinner bowled just one over in each innings, but took a wicket in each of them and conceded no runs, ending with two maidens.
The talented duo return to Essex for their County Championship Division One match against Middlesex at Chelmsford today.
