LIAM Nash has signed a two-year deal at Gillingham after impressing during pre-season.

The 21-year-old striker from Hullbridge has been linked with a host of professional clubs after scoring 37 times for Maldon & Tiptree in the Isthmian North last season.

And he has now joined the League One outfit, as he looks to make strides in the Football League.

Nash, who has also played for Great Wakering Rovers, Aveley and Hullbridge Sports, told the club wesbite: “The way the fans have supported me over these past couple of games is very welcoming.

“I’ll give 100 per cent back to them; I’m going to put the effort in to get my starts and do my hardest to get the ball in the back of the net.”

And he also won praise from his new manager, Ady Pennock.

"We are delighted to sign Liam," he said.

"He has been fantastic in training and his performances in the games we have played have been impressive.

“The fans took to him instantly and we now look forward to working with him.”

Nash scored twice against Chatham Town on Tuesday, and also won a penalty against Dover last weekend.
