FORMER Arsenal and Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant starts for Billericay Town this afternoon...just hours after first arriving at the club.
The attacker, 34, is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Isthmian Premier League side.
He arrived at the AGP Arena alongside friend and former professional Jamie O'Hara.
And it didn't take long for Pennant to don the blue of Billericay, as he was named in the starting line-up against Leyton Orient in their first pre-season friendly at home this summer.
Pennant has played for a host of professional sides, including Birmingham City and Stoke City and has also spent a season at Real Zaragoza in Spain.
He is a Champions League runner up with Liverpool.
Pennant was also connected with Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership, but has agreed a move to Town after owner Glenn Tamplin agreed to stump up around £3,000 a week in wages.
Pennant joins Paul Konchesky and O’Hara in the Town ranks as they look to secure promotion to the National League South.
