SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Harry Seaden has his sets sights on next summer’s European Championships after impressing for between the sticks for England’s under 17 side.

The 16-year-old, from Rayleigh, helped England beat Turkey 3-2 before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Italy.

But the former FitzWimarc School pupil will be doing all he can to stay in the squad.

“I’ve got eight caps for England and it would be great to add more to that tally because it’s such a proud moment every time I play,” said Seaden, who also represented England at under 15 and 16 level.

“It was great to play in front of 500 people in the Italy game but I want to try and build on it now and the European Championships is my main target I’ll be working towards.”
