THE PREVIEW: Isthmian Premier League leaders Billericay Town know nothing less than three points is acceptable against Tooting & Mitcham United.

Town have responded to their opening day defeat to Kingstonian by winning eight of their last nine matches - and all six league fixtures.

Tooting won the Isthmian South last season with a stunning 105 points, but are one of just two teams yet to win a match in the division this season.

They now face the daunting task of a trip to the AGP Arena, where Town have scored 21 goals in their last five outings.

THE INSIGHT: “We need to carry on what we are doing,” said assistant manager Harry Wheeler. “We want to keep the players level-headed. All games are difficult and we are preparing like Tooting are the best team in the league.

“I know a bit about Tooting from other managers and know they are good going forward. But we need to play our game and we always feel we are going to score if we defend well.

“We like to look at ourselves, and that is not arrogance. We just want to keep this run going. Consistency will help us win the league and we will not underestimate a single opponent.

“We have been scoring plenty of goals but I am more impressed at the clean sheets (five in last six games). Goalscorers win games, clean sheets win leagues.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Kevin Foley and Jamie O’Hara are set to miss out (injured), Paul Konchesky is suspended, while Leo Chambers returns. Rob Swaine and Josh Urquhart are available despite recent red cards.
