BASILDON United, Hullbridge Sports and Great Wakering Rovers continue their FA Vase bids as they look to book their places in the first round tomorrow.

The Bees are the only one of the three to face a side outside of the Essex Senior League, with Walsham le Willows the visitors to the Stuart Bingham Stadium.

It is the third time the duo have played each other this season, with Basildon needing a replay to get past the Eastern Counties Football League Premier Division side.

And manager Marc Harrison is hopeful of a repeat tomorrow, with the Bees 3-0 winners in the replay in Essex.

“We have played them twice and I expect a close game now,” he said. “We were lucky to get the replay in the FA Cup.

“It is an advantage playing the same team I think, assuming they have not changed their style. But we have changed a hell of a lot since then.

“Things are settling down for us now and we want to win. It is a great cup to do well in.

“What Bowers did last year (reaching the semi-final of the FA Vase) for the community let alone themselves, was brilliant and we can take encouragement from that. It bred belief in local teams to take things more seriously and we want to take advantage of it.”

Hullbridge Sports head to Ilford, with little to separate the two ahead of kick-off.

Only three points divides the two in the league, with Ilford having played one match more than Sports.

Charlie Gerada, Sam Taylor and player/manager Rob Hodgson are injury doubts for the match.

Great Wakering travel to early Essex Senior League leaders West Essex for what is likely to be an exciting encounter.

West Essex have lost just one of eight matches so far, although Rovers are just three points behind them.

Wakering have resigned striker Jake Gordon, who could feature. However, Bradley Nobbs, Matt Belcher, Jay Nash and Charlie Kirby are all injured. Steve Butterworth returns.
