BLUES boss Phil Brown believes his side will be facing a ‘fragile’ Peterborough United at Roots Hall this evening.

Posh have gone four games without a win having previously been in fine form.

But Brown is still expecting a tough test against Grant McCann’s side.

“I would imagine Peterborough would be fragile at the moment,” said the Shrimpers chief.

“The last time they won was against Wigan and they’ve not won in four games since then.

“But I don’t think it’s a good time to catch them.

“I think they’re a quality side and they’re a wounded animal at the moment.

“They’re actually in a similar kind of moment to us.”

Peterborough’s loss of form has seen them slip to seventh in the League One standings, which is far higher than the Shrimpers, who occupy 15th place.

Blues were beaten 3-0 by Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

But Brown feels his side should still be in good spirits.

“We have to stay positive after Saturday,” said Brown.

“Everyone seems to be focusing on the fact we lost 3-0 but for 85 minutes we exercised the game plan, albeit with some intrepidation.

“They had more shots but we hung onto their shirt tails and had a foothold in the game even when we were down to 10 men.

“We gifted them the second goal but if we had come away losing 1-0 and having a go, people would have remembered that part of the game but all they’re focusing on at the moment is the 3-0 result.

“But the quality in the final third has to improve if we are to do any damage to Peterborough.”
