UNBEATEN league leaders Rochford Hundred will be seeking a seventh league win in succession when they host Woodford this weekend.

A new look Rochford side have triumphed in their opening six London Two North East fixtures.

And Hundred’s second row Sam Fombo is confident they can keep the good run going.

“We are expecting a win this weekend, as we would any other game,” said Fombo, who joined Rochford from Southend in the summer.

“We just have to make sure we don’t become arrogant because of our winning streak.

“We need to keep level heads and do what we do best.

“If we do that then I’m sure we will come out with the five points and continue our good start.”

Rochford are now the only unbeaten team in the league and sit three points clear of second placed Norwich.

And Fombo has been impressed by how strongly Hundred have started the season.

“We’ve got off to a great start, winning six out of six and we’ve bonded quickly too,” said Fombo.

“We are playing some good rugby and our aim is to keep that going to make sure we end up getting promoted.”

That would be mission accomplished for a new look Rochford side whose strategy has been criticised in some quarters, much to the annoyance of Fombo.

“I’m also hoping the men on the rugby forum stop whining about the financial input into Rochford and start acting their age,” he added.
