JAMIE Salmon believes Bowers & Pitsea owe their supporters a win after suffering back-to-back defeats.

Rob Small’s side go into tomorrow’s clash with Aveley having been defeated by AFC Hornchurch and Grays Athletic in the last seven days.

And Salmon is eager to return to winning ways.

Salmon said: “We have had a great following home and away from the fans this season, which makes a massive difference.

“There’s been a big change since my first game with Bowers, where we had about 20 people watching our Essex Senior League game.

“They give us an extra boost and we definitely owe them a win tomorrow.”

Despite being on the wrong side of 1-0 scorelines in each of their past two outings, Bowers have made a promising start to their second campaign in the Isthmian North.

Bowers are currently fifth in the standings, and have racked up seven victories from 13 games.

And Salmon is looking to build on their impressive start.

The midfielder added: “We can be happy with our start to the season.

“We’ve been playing some very good football and have had some good results.

“New players have joined and bedded into the team really well and it feels like they’ve been with the team for a long time.

“We’ve just got to keep the performances up and get on an unbeaten run.

“I think we can take a lot of positives out of the Hornchurch and Grays games, where we didn’t deserve to be on the losing side on either occasion.

“We could have been one or two goals up before we conceded and I feel we played the better football in both games but lapses in concentration have cost us.”

Aveley recently appointed James Webster as manager and Salmon is expecting a reaction from the Millers.

Salmon admitted: “A new manager always brings that extra work rate and the team are always looking to impress but we know we have got the capability to get three points.”
