ROCHFORD Hundred continued their unbeaten start to the London Two North East season with a resounding 65-0 win against Harlow.

The triumph was Rochford’s eighth in a row and full-back Mark Billings was full of praise for the performance.

“It was another great win at the weekend for us but what is more pleasing than the result is our performance, especially over the last two weeks,” said Billings.

“We have been a lot more clinical at the break down and less predictable during open play.

“It’s been a great start to the season for all us and momentum is a big thing.

“You can see the confidence it has brought to the team, particularly the younger lads who are thriving in this situation and it was good to carry that on Saturday.”

Rochford remain five points clear at the top of the table and Billings is enjoying lining up alongside a number of former team-mates after they decided to make the move to Magnolia Road in the summer.

“It’s been great that a lot of the boys have moved over to Rochford but it’s even better that they have all bought into the ethos of the club and the team,” said Billings.

“I think this reflects in the style of play we have developed and environment around the club at the moment too but we have to keep it going.

“As a team we are looking for promotion but also a good cup run.”

Rochford opened the scoring with a try from Ricki Gould at the weekend before Tom Corbet bagged three tries on the trot to complete a hat-trick.

Matt Stewart and Stuart Whatling also touched down and, with Tom Ashton adding two conversions, Rochford led 34-0 at half-time.

After the break, lively flanker David Rufai was the first to score before Luke Court-Rhind bagged a well-taken try.

Moments later, Sam Edwards scored a fine individual try before Court-Rhind - who touched down for a second time - and Daniel Sowter also got tries.
