THE PREVIEW: Bowers & Pitsea will go into tomorrow’s match with Cheshunt as strong favourites to continue their play-off tilt.

Bowers lie fourth, 18 places and 20 points better off than their opponents - who are usually battling them for a play-off position.

Cheshunt’s only win in their last eight outings came against Aveley last time out, while Bowers are riding high on confidence following Tuesday’s 4-2 win against Maldon & Tiptree.

THE INSIGHT: “I would hope a great performance and result against Maldon inspires the team but we entered the Sudbury match on the back of eight games unbeaten and we were 4-0 down at half-time,” said boss Rob Small.

“One of the things you realise is you need to find a consistent appetite. The players found that level of performance on Tuesday and is that because they raised their game because of the opponent or because it’s their standard? I hope it’s the latter.

“If you look at tables then we may be favourites, but Cheshunt have more resources than we do. The game is not played on paper.”

THE TEAM NEWS: David Knight is suspended, while Tony Stokes is expected to return from illness.
