Bognor Regis Town 1-2 Concord Rangers
(Wood 76’: Taaffe 2’, Da Costa 30’)
From Nyewood Road
National League South
CONCORD Rangers won back to back games for the first time this season to climb further clear of the danger zone following victory at Bognor Regis Town.
The Beach Boys long unbeaten run had come to an end last weekend although they had not lost in league since the middle of September.
And they made the perfect start against struggling Bognor Regis. Just two minutes had been played when Lewis Taaffe, back in the starting XI, drove the ball home from almost 20 yards.
Harvey Whyte hit back with a shot straight at Louis Wells, with the stopper again required to stop Ben Swallow’s curling effort.
However, Concord were enjoying themselves and soon doubled their lead.
A Ben Greenhalgh through ball was picked up by Da Costa who nipped in before the keeper to dink into the goal.
Calvin Davies hit the post for Bognor with the final effort of the first half.
The second half was a closer affair, and they were to halve the deficit with 15 minutes remaining.
Keaton Wood headed home for Bognor to set up a grandstand finish but Concord held on.
Concord Rangers: Wells, Brown, Smith, Nasha, Roast, Knight, Da Costa, Lee, Greenhalgh, Cawley, Taaffe
