Essex Senior League

HULLBRIDGE Sports were unable to hold onto a two goal lead as Essex Senior League frontrunners Redbridge came from behind to secure all three points.

Michael Salako and Harry Watkins gave the home side a promising advantage heading into half-time, but a second half double from Brian Moses and Liam Thomas' solitary goal was enough to turn the game on its head.

Salako handed Hullbridge a sixth minute opener as the striker latched onto a long ball through the middle before slotting past Redbridge goalkeeper Lewis Green.

The visitors should have levelled with 12 minutes on the clock as Moses blazed over the crossbar with the goal at his mercy after Joshua Hutchinson struck the post.

Watkins doubled Hullbridge's lead five minutes before the break as his long range effort found the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Russell Harley saved a Jacob Dingli penalty shortly after the break but Moses got a goal back for Redbridge with a header.

Redbridge were awarded a second penalty as Charlie Buffin, who was dismissed, handled on the goal-line and Moses made no mistake from the spot.

And the comeback was completed on 61 minutes as Thomas converted a corner.
