PHIL Brown will still be in charge of Southend United for Saturday’s clash at Northampton Town, Echosport understands.
The Blues boss admitted he feared the sack following Monday’s disappointing 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.
But the 58-year-old will be given a chance to turn things around against the Cobblers.
The Shrimpers go into the game sitting 17th in the League One standings following a poor run of results which has them suffer six defeats in their last seven matches Blues now also sit just four points above the relegation zone.
But chairman Ron Martin continues to stand by Brown who has been in the Roots Hall hot-seat since replacing Paul Sturrock in March 2013.
