NILE Ranger will not be signing for Billericay Town after club owner Glenn Tamplin said the player had ‘not had the courtesy’ to return his call.
The striker was released by Southend United last week following what the club described as ‘reoccurring disciplinary issues’.
Multi-millionaire Billericay owner Tamplin admitted he was initially keen to sign the troubled forward, but says the move is now ‘dead in the water’.
“Nile Ranger was made a sensible offer to join Billericay,” he said. “People were banding around five figures, but it was nothing like that.
“He is a great player and I would love to get him but I haven’t had the courtesy of a phone call back or heard anything so he obviously doesn’t want to join Billericay.
“I tried but got nothing so that move is dead in the water.”
