JAKE Spivey hopes to be fit enough to figure when in-form Westcliff look to make it four wins in succession this weekend.

Westcliff visit Guildford in the London & SE Premier Division tomorrow.

And Spivey is keeping his fingers crossed that a knee injury will ease off in time for him to play.

“I would say I’m 50/50 at the moment, but hopefully I’ll be fit enough because we already have some players out this weekend,” said the youngster, who has played at scrum-half and full-back for Westcliff’s first team.

“Guildford certainly won’t be a pushover as they beat us last time round at home.

“Maybe we were a little bit complacent and we can’t afford to make that mistake again away from home.”

Westcliff - who are fifth in the table - will be heading into this weekend’s clash on a high after beating Westcombe Park 43-0 last time out.

And Spivey remains thrilled by the manner of the victory.

“Last weekend was great,” said the teenager.

“It was another win and to stop them from scoring was even better, especially as we had two yellows and were playing with only 13 men at one point.

“It was great to be a part of and the three wins in a row really gives us confidence going forward.

“We played with confidence and played fast tempo rugby to score some great tries.”

And Spivey is now seeking more of the same against a Guildford side 10th in the 14 team table.

“Confidence is high as we have just come off the back of three great wins,” said Spivey.

“We should be going into the game feeling we can beat anyone in our league when we’re not being complacent and playing confidently at our best.

“Also with the depth we have it’s great to have such a strong squad so no matter if we have players out we can still put a performance in to get the result and hopefully we’ll see that on Saturday to keep our good run going.”

>SOUTH Woodham Ferrers head to Old Priorians in London One North tomorrow.

Bottom of the table Woodham have suffered 11 defeats in a row and will be hoping to stop the losing sequence at Old Priorians, who are seventh in the standings.

Thurrock have also been in poor form in London One South and go into tomorrow’s home clash with London Cornish third from bottom in the table.

Out of form Thurrock have been beaten in five of their last six games, but will be desperate to get back on track against a Cornish side who are currently fifth in the standings.
