People seem surprised that Bowers lost at Cheshunt.

That’s testament to the performance of our players this season but, in reality, Cheshunt are a superpower compared to Bowers.

It did make me laugh seeing tweets from the person behind the official twitter account of Cheshunt mocking our league position and approach to the game.

One of the most profound measures of success is being disliked, so I was flattered. I’d be really disappointed if the official Bowers twitter was being used in that fashion though.

From our perspective it was a frustrating afternoon.

There are lessons to be learned and a defeat can teach you a lot more than a victory.

We have got no right at all to be sitting where we are sitting in the league with only 12 games to play and that is testament to this group of players.

Unfortunately on Saturday, for whatever reason, we didn’t meet those standards and Cheshunt deservedly beat us.

Over the season they have shown amazing progress both individually and as a team. That’s involved a lot of conversations about the mental side of the game and understanding what is required to get results. Who knows what will happen but wherever this journey takes us, I am immensely proud of all of them.

Last week we added to our group, with Shomari Barnwell and Jeff Cobblah joining us. That presents a new challenge with those players being required to quickly adapt and understand what is required of them in this team.

We host an AFC Sudbury team on Saturday that played us off the park at their place [taking a 4-0 lead into half-time], have just beaten the leaders and that were playing in the division above last season.

I know who I would make the favourites!
