Folkestone Invicta 2-1 Billericay Town
(McCann 15', Ter Horst 45': Bricknell 90' (p))
Isthmian Premier League
BILLERICAY Town suffered back-to-back defeats in the Isthmian Premier League for the first time this season after going down at Folkestone Invicta.
Beaten on Saturday by Leiston, Billericay were looking for a response on the Kent coast but the fans that made the trip were to be disappointed.
The hosts claimed first blood on 15 minutes as Kieron McCann took aim from outside the penalty area and curled a fine shot beyond goalkeeper Alan Julian.
Town were on the back foot and were indebted to Julian for a fine stop on the half hour, although Jake Robinson missed the chance to get the league leaders back on terms when he shot wide of the post on the stroke of half-time.
But there was still enough time for Invicta to score a second. Johan Ter Horst went through one-on-one and finished well.
Liam Hughes and Sam Deering forced saves from Tim Roberts, with the latter seeing a goal ruled out shortly afterwards.
Folkestone missed a golden chance to score a third before Town did get their consolation.
Substitute Billy Bricknell netted from the penalty spot - his 99th for the club - following a foul on Adam Cunnington, but it came too late in the day.
Billericay Town: Julian, Paine (Waldren 46'), Evans, Inman, Swaine, Deering, Modeste, Conlon (Bricknell 75'), Butcher (Hughes 46'), Robinson, Cunnington
