THE PREVIEW: Concord Rangers welcome play-off chasing Welling United looking to get back to winning ways.

Their match against East Thurrock United was postponed on Tuesday, with the Concord pitch deemed unplayable.

But, barring more rain, the game is expected to go ahead.

Welling have won four of their last five matches and are keeping pace with the National League South play-off hopefuls.

And they will want to keep up an impressive record at the Aspect Arena.

Welling won 5-0 and 1-0 in the league and FA Trophy last term.

However, this season’s encounter at Park View Road was a thrilling clash - the final score 3-3 thanks to Khale Da Costa’s late strike.

THE INSIGHT: “I haven’t been over to the ground to be able to see what the pitch is like,” admitted manager Adam Flanagan. “I would imagine it is still soft at this time and that the game will be dependent on if we get any more rain.

“Welling are a team that are more successful away from home so rest assured we know it will be a difficult game. They will have a good aerial presence from set pieces and in Joe Healey they have one of the best players I have seen in this league.

“They looked to play in the reverse fixture and they will stick to that philosophy tomorrow, so for us to be successful we will have to learn from the mistakes we made in the first game and make the most of our opportunities.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Lewis Taaffe is nearing a return, while Harry Lee is out for the season.
