Nice to be back out there after a long time out. Clean sheet always a positive and a point to build on. Can’t deny it, the pitch is very difficult to play on and show what we can do but we have to deal with it for now.

The conditions made the game look like a 0-0 from the start. A much improved performance from last week. We’ll take a point as it really could have gone either way.

@samgoody23

That pitch. The end.

@1aaroncross

The scrappy performance, the disappointing result and the lack of entertainment or flowing football were mainly due to the poor state of the playing surface. Shocking how it cuts up so easily. This is now a major problem for the football club and its long term prospects.

@shrimpersaway

All I can say is that if that was Phil Brown who made the first sub and went with one up front at home for the remainder of the game against a poor Doncaster team there would have been a lot of jeering from the crowd but I heard nothing.

@peterwayland1

Looked a draw from the start. Can’t wait for next season now when we can hopefully sign a forward who scores or can head.

@fatboyclarkie

A much better performance. Ox, Demetriou and Yearwood stood out for me.

@sufc1jack

Playing good football was impossible on a heavy, sticky, lumpy pitch resembling Aintree post Grand National. The boys dug in and grabbed a point but the lack of a real cutting edge again haunted us. Fortune’s work-rate was immense, Yearwood and Demetriou shone and Ox’s double stop was vital.

@kristofshrimper

The pitch is a complete mess and doesn’t even give the opportunity to pass it around.

@ljarvis27

Tough to ask the players to play decent football on that pitch. Keepers and defenders can’t trust the bounce so we are understandably playing a little more direct. More spirit this week. Both keepers made excellent saves.

@thedove01

Both teams deserve credit for trying to play football on such a disgraceful pitch.

@alan280208

The pitch is clearly costing us. Ron Martin must really regret sacking (former groundsman) Ken (Hare) now.
