JAKE Robinson scored his seventh hat-trick of the season as Billericay Town crushed Needham Market 5-0 to extend their advantage at the top of the Isthmian Premier League.
The forward took his tally to 57 for the campaign with three matches remaining, with Sam Deering and Jamie O’Hara also on target.
Town could have fallen behind before they took the lead, with Luke Ingram firing wide of the post.
But Billericay responded and had the lead 60 seconds later. Robinson saw his initial shot blocked but the striker picked up the rebound and hammered into the net.
Town had started brilliantly and a second goal was just around the corner.
On 10 minutes, Sam Deering moved through the gears and shot beyond goalkeeper Danny Gay and into the corner.
Town were rampant. Jamie O’Hara marked his return to the team with a goal as he added a third on the half hour and five minutes later it was four.
Robinson buried a penalty to make it 4-0 and thought he had got his third on the stroke of half-time only for the referee to blow up for offside.
Into the second period, an O’Hara strike was tipped onto the post but it was largely uneventful.
Robinson buried a brilliant third and fifth for Town with 25 minutes remaining as the home team closed out a comfortable victory.
Billericay Town: Julian, Kizzi, Urquhart, Paine, Inman, Deering (Ocran 70’), Modeste (Wheeler 56’), Waldren, O’Hara, Robinson, Cunnington (Hughes 46)
