CHRIS Powell has warned his Southend United side they are not yet safe from relegation.
The 15th placed Shrimpers host MK Dons at Roots Hall tomorrow sitting seven points above the drop zone with four games to go.
But Powell believes Blues must pick up more points to secure League One survival.
“We aren’t safe,” said the Shrimpers boss.
“People can say we’re on 53 points and we’ll be fine but I’ve seen teams go down with 53 points before so it’s not done and that’s why we can’t drift.
“If we do that then we might find ourselves needing something in the last couple of games.
“That’s why Saturday’s game with MK Dons is very important.
“I want more points and we need more points too.”
