THE Seevic Storm Academy had an extremely successful weekend at the AoC National Finals.

The rugby men’s seven teams again won gold while Harry Kitchens did likewise in the squash competition.

Sinead Clarke claimed silver in the women’s cross country competition while the men’s team also secured second place.

The women’s team finished third in the netball event while the football team took fourth, missing out a bronze medal by just one goal.

The women’s basketball team took sixth placed in the finals held at Nottingham University.

And Seevic’s head of sport Craig Davidson was thrilled by the success in testing conditions.

“The hot weather made this a brutal and physical test for a lot of our students over the course of three days of competition,” said Davidson.

“The attitude and behaviour of our students was impeccable and a real credit to our college.

“Myself and the team are incredibly proud of them all and for what we have achieved with a serious amount of hard work and commitment.

“The AoC Sport National Finals proved to be one of our most successful ever.

“To come home with a gold and silver is a real testament to the level of the programme we offer.”

The rugby academy were crowned champions for the second year in a row after not losing a single game.

In a tough looking tournament, they beat Truro, Hartlepool and Myescough College in fine style to secure more success for the Thundersley based college.
