SOUTHEND United have confirmed they are in contract negotiations with five of their players.
Goalkeeper Mark Oxley, defender Michael Turner, midfielder Michael Timlin and strikers Simon Cox and Marc-Antoine Fortune are all in talks about remaining at Roots Hall while Blues have activated a year long clause in Ben Coker's contract.
However, Josh Wright, Anthony Wordsworth, Jermaine McGlashan and Freddie Ladapo have all both released.
Experienced centre-back Anton Ferdinand has also been made available for transfer.
The defender still has a year left on his contract with the Shrimpers.
