SOUTHEND United are keen on signing ex-Brighton & Hove Albion striker Isaac Hutchinson.
The 18-year-old featured on trial for the Shrimpers towards the end of last season.
And Blues have now offered Hutchinson a contract as they bid to make him part of the club’s under-23 side next season.
Academy manager Ricky Duncan said: “We had Isaac in on trial and he’s something different to what we already have.
“He can play as a deep lying striker and in a number of roles so we have made him an offer.”
Blues have also taken up year options on goalkeeper Josh Bexon, defender Sonny Coutts and midfielders Renei Batlokwa and Joe Bedford.
Midfielders Harry Phillips and Michael Klass have been offered improved deals along with striker Norman Wabo.
