A GROUP of footballing youngsters united to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Organised by Rylee Doe and held at Bowers & Pitsea’s Len Salmon Stadium, the game raised £1,616 for the hospital.
And Doe was pleased with how the evening went.
“It was a really good night and everyone seemed to enjoy it,” said Doe.
“We’ve done this game for a few years now and have raised £4,233 in total which is great.
“Next year we’ll be doing the game again to raise money for MIND but that’s going to be the last one we do.”
This year’s clash saw Rydog FC beat United FC 7-3 in an entertaining encounter.
Southend United’s Charlie Kelman scored a hat-trick for Rydog while Cameron Sparkes, Kieran Coult and Jack Nolde were also on target along with an own goal.
Mitch Goddard scored all three of United FC’s goals during an impressive display.
