SOUTHEND United midfielder Dru Yearwood is aiming to be fit for the start of the League One season.
The 18-year-old suffered a hamstring injury against Bristol Rovers on the final day of the previous campaign.
But, despite having a setback, Yearwood is determined to be ready for the League One opener against Doncaster Rovers at the start of August.
“I want to be fit for the start of the season and that’s what we’re aiming towards,” said Yearwood.
“It’s been frustrating but I know I have to be sensible too.
“It’s feeling good but I can’t rush things.
“I can’t do too much too soon and I have to be sensible.
“I would rather miss a few games than come back too soon and miss far longer.”
