CONCORD Rangers’ pre-season preparations continued with a 3-2 defeat to Leyton Orient.

Sammy Moore’s side raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Billy Knott and Nana Boakye-Yiadom finding the back of the net at the Aspect Arena.

But the National League South side were pegged back and Macauley Bonne goals either side of half-time allowed Justin Edinburgh’s National League powerhouses to get back on level terms before Josh Koroma’s late winner.

The Beach Boys took a second minute lead thanks to a fantastic goal from captain Knott.

The Canvey-born midfielder drove forward with the ball after being found by fellow summer signing Ryan Hayes and Knott’s dipping strike found the top corner of the net – giving O’s goalkeeper Dean Brill no chance – from 25 yards out.

Orient midfielder Alex Lawless saw his close range effort deflect just wide of the target as the National League side looked to get back on level terms.

But with 13 minutes on the clock, Concord doubled their advantage as Boakye-Yiadom netted with a close range header.

After cutting inside, Bonne sent a sweetly-struck drive a whisker wide of the target on the half hour mark.

And with the visitors’ next attack, Bonne beat Sam Beasant at his near post to halve the Beach Boys’ advantage.

Charlie Lee passed up a golden opportunity to equalise just before the break, but the Orient captain sent his weak header straight at Beasant from eight yards out.

However, Bonne scored his second goal of the game and notched Orient’s equaliser following some sloppy Beach Boys defending 11 minutes after the interval.

Bonne and Lawless were thwarted by blocks as the O’s looked to go in front for the first time.

Lee went in with a high challenge on Lee Minshull and were it to have happened in a competitive clash, the midfielder would surely have been sent off. But referee Steve Parmenter showed the away skipper a yellow card instead.

The away side were to nick a late winner, with substitute Koroma firing past Beasant with just minutes to play.
