SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell was frustrated to pick up just a point at Plymouth Argyle.
Jason Demetriou’s penalty secured the Shrimpers a share of the spoils at Home Park.
But Powell was disappointed not to take all three points.
“Our first half performance warranted a win,” said the Shrimpers chief.
“In the second half we probably didn’t play to the same standard but we were still probing.
“We’ve played two games now and we’re playing some good stuff.
“We’re doing what I envisaged we would do but we just need to get over the line and get that win which will give us a confidence boost.”
Blues were forced to come from a goal down against the Pilgrims after Graham Carey netted from the spot.
But Powell did not agree with the decision.
“It’s not a penalty,” said Powell.
“The referee was closer and said it wasn’t a penalty but the assistant said it was 100 per cent a penalty so he’s taken his word on it.
“They are a team and I understand they work together but when you see it (Tafari) Moore actually kicks the back off his own leg.
“We found ourselves 1-0 down because of that but the attitude and response of the players was first class.”
