LOOKING AHEAD: Concord Rangers welcome Hungerford Town in a different frame of mind from when the last two met.

The 1-0 win against the fellow relegation threatened Hungerford at the end of April last term proved to be a crucial result in the Beach Boys avoiding the drop.

But this year, anyone who has seen Concord’s first four games of the season will head into it expecting three points.

Second in the league and with just one goal in the conceded column, Concord have set the standard while Hungerford continue to struggle - without a win and third from bottom after four matches.

In a game Sammy Moore will have targeted three points, could Concord be looking down on the rest of the division come 5pm on Saturday?

COACH’S VIEW: “The biggest thing for us is we are not firing on all cylinders,” said first team coach Darren Beale. “There is so much more to come from this team.

“It is now the job of the players, staff and supporters not to get carried away.

“Hungerford have had some decent results and it won’t be an easy game. Good results against Wealdstone and Hemel Hempstead means we must be on it.

“There is a massive buzz around the group and that is down to the chairman and the manager. The players are working their socks off and there is experience in all positions.

“We must remain focused.”
