Stuart O'Keefe in action at Leeds United last week
SHRIMPERS midfielder Stuart O’Keefe has been been shortlisted for the 2009 Footballer League Awards.
The 17-year-old is up for glory in the apprentice of the year section.
But he faces competition from Carlisle United defender Tom Aldred and MK Dons striker Daniel Powell to land the accolade.
O’Keefe has made great strides with the Shrimpers and signed his first professional contract earlier on this season.
The midfielder has made one League One start this term against Leeds United at Elland Road and made two other appearances from the substitutes’ bench against Leyton Orient and Yeovil Town.
He also came on as a sub in the 2-0 FA Cup win over AFC Telford.
