STAR Onyx lived up to their billing when the annual Southend Netball League presentations were staged at Leigh’s Arlington Rooms.

The club walked away with four top honours — winning both the league and cup for division two and capturing the Rotation and League Shield rallys.

Lady Blues won three top prizes — the division three league and cup plus the Handicap Rally.

The league’s Defensive Trophy went to Lady Blues while division one player of the year was SWF Hullbridge’s Jo Edmonson.

The division two prize went to Sue Kudyk (Panthers) while Anne Hoeb (Thundersley Hart) took the third division prize.

The umpire of the year was a three-way split between Debbie Hands, Peter Goudie and Bev Piggott.

VIP guests for the evening were Councillor Ann Holland, in her capacity of being vice-chair of Essex Fire Authority, and Mick Watton, who is the authority’s divisional officer.
