Premier Division: Leaders Orsett hosted South Woodford and defeated their visitors by 26 runs.
Things looked shaky for Orsett as Ben Smith (12), Lewis Smith (17) and Sachin Sewgobind (18) were the only batsmen to prosper.
But Ian Lockyer (51) and Steve Samms (31no) came in at eight and nine to add vital runs to help take the total to 197 all out from 48.1 overs as Abbas Ahmed took 5-40.
Samms (4-75) led the way with the ball, while John Morris (2-49), Robert Pavitt (2-12) and Sewgobind (2-23) helped restrict South Woodford to 171-8 in reply, with R Evans top-scoring with 76.
Rain led to the abandonment of Basildon & Pitsea’s trip to Harold Wood. The New Towners had been bowled out for 150 after being put in to bat and saw their hosts hit 52-0 when the heavens opened and the match called off.
Other result: Hutton (197-8 dec) v Ardleigh Green (0-1) - abandoned, Fives & Heronians (148-9 dec) v Upminster (4-1) - abandoned, Hainault & Clayhall (169-9 dec) v Hornchurch (35-1) - abandoned.
Division One: Billericay entertained Southend on Sea and beat them by eight wickets. The Seasiders were bowled out for 101 from 35.1 overs with M Townsend (5-30) their main tormentor, before Billericay replied with 105-2 from 24 overs.
Horndon on the Hill had a eight-wicket win at home to Hadleigh & Thundersley. Hadleigh were bowled out for 92 from 35 overs, with a 4-9 spell from Jack Plane doing the most damage.
Gary Ginsburgh led the Horndon reply with 41 runs as the hosts posted 96-2 in 29.1 overs.
Stanford hosted Ardleigh Green and beat them by 122 runs. Robert Peam’s unbeaten 77 was the highlight but Peter Victory chipped in 29 as Stanford reached 200-7 from 50.5 overs, with Craig Burd (3-22) posing the biggest threat.
Ardleigh Green were skittled out for 78 in 20.4 overs as John Dorrington-Harris (5-47) and Jonathan Fuller (4-9) ripped through their innings. Kevin Chapmen (35) provided the only resistance.
Benfleet hosted Brentwood and lost by three wickets. The hosts opted to bat and were bowled out for 195 from 48.3 overs despite Deryck Povey's 37, 27 from Lee Parmenter, 24 from Rob Parmenter and 23 from Samuel Ashley.
Brentwood used eight bowlers and saw four of them take a brace before Sam Ali (39) led their run chase, which reached 199-7 off 38 overs. Kieran Record took 3-28 and George Verlander 2-47.
Other result: Chingford (78-6) bt Walthamstow (77) by 4 wickets.
Division Two: Wickford trevelled to Loughton and were defeated by eight wickets.
The visitors chose to bat and saw only Michael Green (13) reach double figures before they were bowled out for 35 runs off 14.2 overs as Michael Bridges (5-7) and Theepan Tavarasa (3-17) did the damage.
Loughton saw A Jani (18) top score as they replied with 38-2 off 10 overs, with J Sloane (2-6) capturing the wickets to fall.
Leigh hosted Hornchurch and went down by seven wickets. John Monk (58) and Bilal Mazhar (38) were Leigh’s mainstays as they posted 130 all out from 47 overs, with Frank Grann taking 4-23.
Bill Stallard’s 41 anchored the Hornchurch reply, which reached 131-3 from 25.4 overs as Jack Seal, Kenneth Sandeman and Joshal Patel took a wicket each.
Other result: Gidea Park & Romford (0) v South Woodford (0) - match abandoned, Wanstead bt Fives & Heronians - Fives unable to raise a side, Wanstead won by a walkover.
Division Three East: Stanford le Hope visited Leigh on Sea and returned with a 71 run win.
Leigh put their hosts into bat and saw David Ashley hit an unbeaten 77, Adrian Page (30) and Ryan Smith (30no) as they posted 200-1 from 50.1 overs with the help of 63 overs. John Hodges (1-23) took the only wicket to fall.
Trevor Bull (31) and Paul Boughtwood (22) led the reply, which reached 129 all out from 32.4 overs as Charlie Gleisinger (4-17) andJames Hogger (3-26) got among the wickets.
Orsett returned from Billericay with a seven-wicket victory. James Page (5-69) was on song as Billericay were bowled out for 119 off 35.4 overs, before Orsett replied with 122-3 from 22 overs.
Old Southendian & Southchurch hosted Chelmsford V and lost by 119 runs. Chelmsford were bowled out for 221 off 52 overs, with Andrew Shepherd (64) leading the way and Ricky Stevenson (5-63) and Robert Fulford (2-59) claiming wickets.
But Colin Davis (24), Connor Mortlock (18) and James Bunce (13) were the only Old Boys to reach double figures before Ben Clifford (3-14) and Barry Green (3-15) helped restrict them to 102 all out from 27.3 overs in reply.
Belhus’ trip for Brentwood VI ended with the match being abandoned due to rain. Belhus hit 231-3 declared off 45 overs, with Brentwood hitting 2-0 before the rain.
Division Three West: Hainault & Clayhall V (181) v Wanstead VI (16-0) - abandoned, Harlow (164) drew with Old Parkonians (133-6), Harold Wood (231-9 dec) v Hornchurch (0) - abandoned, Ilford (287-6 dec) v Chingford (39-1) - abandoned.
