Gulls’ kid plan

FOLLOWING on from the success of the “kids for a quid” scheme that ran towards the end of last season, Canvey Island Football Club have decide to launch the “CIFC community pass” for the forthcoming campaign.

The pass entitles children 12 or under free entrance to all home league fixtures and friendlies when accompanied by a parent or guardian paying a discounted adult entry fee of just £7.

Around 5,000 passes are being distributed to all infant and junior schools in the Castle Point area via the Canvey Schools Partnership to attract children and their parents or guardians to watch live football.

Sharan Allsopp, Canvey Schools Partnership Co-ordinator, said: “We are very pleased to be able to support the football club in this exciting initiative.

“As part of our extended services provision we are keen to encourage families to spend quality time together.

“The CIFC community pass is an affordable way of enabling families to have fun together within their local community.”

Chris Sutton, CIFC commercial manager, said: “The CIFC community pass scheme is an excellent way for families to enjoy live football at a very affordable price.

“As a club we pride ourselves on providing excellent facilities for the community and our supporters to enjoy.

“This scheme again shows the club’s commitment to becoming more community focused.

“We hope parents, guardians and children take the opportunity to use the pass and get enjoyment from it.”

The community passes will be distributed to schools over the next few weeks in time for the summer break.
