SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall has been sidelined by a back injury.

The Shrimpers shot-stopper missed yesterday’s 2-1 defeat against Colchester United.

And he has also been ruled out of tomorrow’s trip to Leyton Orient, meaning Ian Joyce will continue to between the sticks.

"Mildy has been doing well for us this season, so it is a blow to lose him,” said Blues manager Steve Tilson.

"He is injured and we don't know how long he will be out for, but we have to move on.

"Joycey had no chance with either of the two goals yesterday and he will have another opportunity at Leyton Orient."
