PAT Baldwin is facing a strange case of déjà vu this evening.
The defender was forced to sit out a game against Colchester United towards the start of his loan spell with Bristol Rovers in December.
And he now faces the same situation with the Shrimpers.
“It’s strange how it’s worked out but at least I’m used to it,” said Baldwin.
“I would obviously have loved to have played in the game tonight because I’ve always enjoyed them in the past.
"But it’s part of the loan that I can’t and there’s nothing I can do about it.
“I’ll just have to sit it out and look forward to all the other games we have coming up.”
Baldwin, 27, has spent more than seven years with Colchester, making 223 appearances but he became surplus to requirements under current U’s boss Aidy Boothroyd.
That resulted in the two loan spells and Baldwin will not be at the ground tonight.
“I think it will be a good game and one that’s also a bit strange for me,” said Baldwin.
“It’s the club I’m on loan at against the club I’m on loan from but I will be among those watching on the television for this one.”
