STEVE Moss did the treble when it came to Thorpe Bay Angling Association’s presentation of trophies for 2009.
Moss took the overall highest aggregate trophy for boat, beach, pier, along with the individual boat and evening series trophies.
He rounded off his successes by also catching the biggest whiting of the year.
Stuart Christie won the beach trophy and shield for the largest cod, while Tony Revell took the pier trophy, flounder and most species shields.
Harry Jenkins won the Ron Porter Memorial Shield for Open matches, and John Pitman was awarded the skate trophy and specimen fish shield.
The eel trophy, dab shield and sole shield were awarded to Richard Bull, Chris Jennings and Jean Cozens respectively.
Finally, two junior members had a close encounter with Harrison Clarke scoring 111 points to bag the junior trophy, with Cameron Clarke a worthy runner up on 103 points.
The Thorpe Bay Angling Association club secretary reported a slow start to 2010 probably due to the low temperatures and too much fresh water in the sea.
But club members are looking forward to sport improving with the onset of spring and to the remainder of the match calendar with visits to a variety of venues covering pier, beach, boat and evening matches.
If anyone is interested in joining TBAA, meetings are held at 8pm on the first Tuesday of each month at TEAC Club in Eastern Esplanade, Thorpe Bay.
