ALTHOUGH still six points clear of their nearest rivals in the race for runners-up spot and home advantage throughout the play-offs, Concord Rangers have faltered in the past week.
After a run of nine straight wins, they have taken just two points from their last three games and badly need to get back on the victory trail at home to Waltham Forest tomorrow.
Saturday’s clash between two of the main play-off rivals turned out to be a generally dull encounter.
Concord started the brighter and, after Michael Begg had tested Darren Bonfield with a drive, Danny Heale ended his recent goal drought by shooting Rangers ahead on the half-hour.
The visitors got on terms on 58 minutes when Mark Kirby headed home from a corner and could have won the full points late on but for home keeper Dale Brightly thwarting Adam Wallace when the Enfield man was put clean through.
