FOLLOWING three successive losses, Thurrock's fleeting Blue Square South play-off hopes took another knock when they were held 2-2 at home by Woking tonight.
But at least Fleet twice came from behind with Kenny Clark and Phil Anderson getting their goals.
In the Ryman Premier, Billericay Town grabbed a battling point in their bid to beat the drop when they drew 0-0 at Ruislip Manor against play-off chasing Wealdstone.
Town, with ex Southend United defensive stalwart Dave McSweeney having quit the New Lodge club due to work commitments, gave a debut to new rearguard signing Bobby Aisien, 20, who is a Nigerian under-19 international.
Canvey's play-off hopes are fading fast following their 2-1 defeat at Hendon with a well below strength team.
After falling behind early on, Canvey levelled through Jonathan Edwards. But the hosts won the three points with a 90th minute goal.
In Ryman One North, second-placed Concord Rangers got back to winning ways after a spell of three games without a victory.
They hosted Waltham Forest, who they now visit on Saturday, and had Paul Shave and a Danny Glozier penalty to thanks for their 2-0 success.
East Thurrock United, lying third, kept the pressure on Concord with a 5-1 win at Ware.
Great Wakering Rovers were well below par at Aveley against Romford in the first-half and were 4-0 down at the break.
A much-improved second-half showing, in which new striker signing Rob Whitnell scored, wasn't enough to save them from a 4-1 defeat.
In the Essex Senior League, Bowers and Pitsea, who host Basildon United on Thursday, drew 2-2 at home to top dogs Burnham Ramblers.
Basildon enjoyed a 3-2 home success over Hullbridge Sports, while Southend Manor lost 3-0 at Witham.
