CONCORD, who had beaten Waltham Forest at home on Tuesday, maintained their six-point lead in second place over closest rivals East Thurrock United by completing a quick double.
Michael Begg was the hero of the hour for the Thames Road visitors with two of the three first-half goals which put the Canvey side on the victory trail.
Begg netted the opener on 16 minutes before back-from-suspension top-scorer Lyle Taylor made it 2-0 10 minutes later.
Begg grabbed a third on the stroke of half-time when he flighted the ball over keeper Sam Tanner.
Danny Gabriel went close with three free-kicks for the hosts after the break, but the game was over by now and Concord will look to push their bid for runners-up spot and key position in the end-of-season play-offs when Tilbury visit Thames Road tomorrow.
