CANVEY boss John Batch said the club is on the cusp of bringing a new player to the club.
He remained tight-lipped about the identity of the possible new recruit, but says a deal could be done in time for the Gulls’ league clash with Charshalton Athletic at Brockwell Stadium on Saturday.
He said:“We are hoping to have some more news on it all by the weekend.”
Meanwhile, Concord Rangers joint-boss Danny Scopes says he is happy with his 18-man squad, despite a disappointing 4-1 reverse at Hendon on Tuesday.
Scopes said: “Even their club officials admitted the scoreline flattered them a bit. We went in level at half-time, then they capitalised on a mistake by our keeper for their second, and then hit us on the break as we chased the game. It’s a learning curve and I think it might help us in the long run.”
