BLAIR Sturrock wants to shoot down Torquay United’s unbeaten start to the season at Roots Hall tomorrow.
The table-topping Gulls are the only side in the Football League to have won all four of their opening fixtures.
And Sturrock, who had a loan spell with Torquay during the 2008/09 season, is keen to end their winning run of results.
“It would be great to get the three points because it’s important we start doing that at home, but this will be a very hard game,” said Sturrock, 29.
“I know a lot of the boys because they have been together a good while now and they’re a good team.
“I played with them towards the end of the season before last and the squad is still similar now which obviously helps them.
“They will be solid and well organised and that has been shown by their fantastic defensive record.”
Torquay have conceded just one goal in their last 11 league outings.
But Sturrock, who faces competition from Matt Paterson and Scott Spencer for a place in the side, heads in to the clash buoyed by bagging the winning spot-kick in Tuesday night’s penalty shoot out triumph over Gillingham in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
