RYAN Hall is determined to keep on creating chances for Southend United.

The 24-year-old Blues winger has more assists this season than any other professional player in the country.

And, despite rumoured interest from Championship clubs, Hall insists he is happy to remain at Roots Hall.

“I like being at Southend and I want to stay here,” said Hall, who has been linked to Millwall, Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town during the January transfer window.

“I want to help the club get promotion this season and want to keep on creating chances for the team because that’s my main job as a winger.”

Hall made two more goals for Blues in their 5-2 triumph at Northampton Town on Saturday and now has 13 assists this season.

That is two higher than his nearest rivals — Manchester City superstar David Silva and Sheffield United’s Stephen Quinn.

But Hall was quick to praise his team-mates for their ability to convert his crosses.

“It’s nice to hear that I’ve made the most goals but it’s also down to the fact we have the players who can attack the ball in the box,” said Hall.

“Mark Phillips has done that a few times this season, so has Bilel Mohsni and Liam Dickinson, so with people like that in the penalty area I know I have to keep on getting crosses in and they will score.”

Hall has switched to the right flank since David Martin’s arrival at the start of the month.

But he is relishing his new role.

“I like it out on the right-hand side,” said Hall. “I have a great defender behind me in Sean Clohessy, who helps me, and I’m also able to get inside and shoot on my left foot.

“I can also cross the ball easily too and hopefully it can keep on going well.”
