TARA Brady says he is devastated to have quit as Southend United’s chief executive.
As was exclusively revealed in yesterday’s Echosport, Brady has opted to leave his role at Roots Hall.
But he admitted it was a tough decision to make.
“I’m devastated to have left the football club,” said Brady.
“As already stated, the plan was to get this club two successive promotions and until a couple of weeks ago I felt we were on target.
“It’s a shame as a lot of hard work went in to turning things around but I don’t wish to comment further.”
Brady spent 13 months with Blues and helped the club improve both on and off the pitch during his spell in south east Essex.
His departure capped a difficult few days for Brady who attended his nan’s funeral yesterday.

So if he quit its probably because he got fed up dealing the non-logical issues of managing a football club.... some of which he said in Simon Kuper's article last weekend in the Financial Times (does anyone believe in coincidences)
Thankfully he apparently had good relationship with Paul Sturrock, so what should concern the fan is how his departure impacts Mr Sturrock ....hopefully it creates the opportunity for some better decision making, now that there isn't someone sitting on his shoulder.
Don't screw this one up Mr Martin....the prize is tooooo big and too important to everyone who cares about this team!!!!
